Dr. Marshall H. Blue, Sr., is the Director of Pediatrics at St. Joseph's Medical Center, a Dignity Health/CommonSpirit organization, in

Stockton, California. In his role, Marshall is directly responsible for the leadership of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Acute Care Pediatric

Unit, and the Neonatal Transport Team. He coordinates his oversight with the Vice President, Chief Nursing Executive, and the Chief of

Pediatrics. He synchronizes the efforts of two physician groups,

Neonatologists and Pediatric Hospitalists, along with his team of Nurse

Managers.

Dr. Blue brings extensive leadership experience in healthcare systems,

where he has successfully led teams, developed innovative programs,

and championed initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes and

advancing health equity. His work spans both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a strong emphasis on pediatric care, interdisciplinary

collaboration, and healthcare operations. His ability to navigate complex systems and implement sustainable solutions has made a significant

impact on the communities he serves. Dr. Blue manages over 100 clinical and clerical staff members in an environment capable of driving new and innovative pathways to elevate healthcare

. Blue is a graduate of the University of San Francisco with a DNP in

Healthcare Systems Leadership. He holds an academic certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), a clinical certification as a Neonatal ICU nurse, as well as

a Public Health Nurse certification from the State of California. He is licensed to practice nursing in the states of California, Connecticut, and

New York. Throughout his career, he has played an active role in

numerous civic and charitable organizations that provide social services,

education, and healthcare in the local community. Currently, Dr. Blue is the Past-President of the local chapter of the Association of CaliforniaNurse Leaders (ACNL) and also serves as a state board representative

from the California North Central Region. In addition, he is a National Board of Directors Member for DNPs (Doctors of Nursing Practice) of

Color and serves as the Interim Vice Chair. Dr. Blue feels these two organizations’ missions and core values align with his profound sense of collaboration and empowerment for the nursing profession, especially when serving the most vulnerable populations and disenfranchised

communities of color. Dr. Blue continues to speak up for DEIAA

(Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility) related issues

and is becoming a leading expert in the area of social justice. Dr. Blue is a published author as well as an award recipient, recognizing his service on

boards and committees. Marshall continues to support his community by participating in seminars and panel discussions, emphasizing his strong advocacy for careers in nursing among youth of

color.

Dr. Blue resides in Stockton, California, with his partner of 19 years. The two of them have become bi-coastal as they now have a home in Atlanta, Georgia,

where they plan to eventually live during retirement.

Marshall deeply enjoys traveling the world with his family and friends and

sharing his love for life with his children and granddaughter. He begins every

day focusing on the blessings of being "Vertical and Ventilating."
