I want to address the recent removal of an episode of the RN-Mentor Podcast featuring Dr. John Lowe. This episode aired in 2021 and verified information came to light indicating that claims of Native American heritage associated with this guest were not accurate through .
Because representation, cultural identity, and Indigenous sovereignty are not symbolic or optional, but matters of truth and accountability, I made the decision to remove the episode from all platforms.
I want to sincerely apologize to our listeners, particularly to Native and Indigenous communities, and to anyone who felt misled or harmed by the inclusion of this episode. While the podcast strives to elevate meaningful voices and scholarship, this moment makes clear that trust also requires vigilance and action when new information emerges.
This decision reflects RN-Mentor’s commitment to ethical leadership, transparency, and respect for lived experience. Going forward, I will strengthen our processes to ensure that voices centered in this space are represented truthfully and responsibly.
